I have a tentative goal of 225, then I'll be focusing my efforts on 180-190, depends on how I look and what my BF% is. At some point I would like to be around 10% (gotta have that 6-pack at least once in my life!).. But, next milestone is def. 225.

Something to make you laugh and to help get your week started!

At the end of one tax year the IRS sent an inspector to audit the books of a synagogue.

While he was checking the books he turned to the Rabbi and said, "I notice you buy a lot of candles. What do you do with the candle drippings?
"Good question," noted the Rabbi. "We save them up and send them back to the candle makers, and every now and then they send us a free box of candles."
"Oh," replied the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual question had a practical answer.

But on he went, in his obnoxious way.

"What about all these matzo purchases? What do you do with the crumbs?" "Ah, yes," replied the Rabbi, realizing that the inspector was trying to trap him with an unanswerable question.
"We collect them and send them back to the manufacturers, and every now and then they send a free box of matzo balls ."
"I see," replied the auditor, thinking hard about how he could fluster the know-it-all Rabbi. "Well, Rabbi," he went on, "what do you do with all the leftover foreskins from the circumcisions you perform?"
"Here, too, we do not waste," answered the Rabbi. "What we do is save up all the foreskins and send them to our IRS Regional Office, and about once a year they send us a complete **** to inspect our records."

Very good goal for the week, Cardio.

It is not easy to go to gym 5 days. Run/jog in the morning and gym in the evening sounds great. It will burn a lot of fat from your body. Remember to eat well and good protein to build the muscle. Can't wait to see your change your name to Sexy King by summer. LOL

Too much sodium yesterday for sure. Gotta watch that...

So this week I want to achieve the following goals:

1. Work out 5 times (Monday through Friday). I know I'm going to be busy on Saturday and Sunday, so I'm going to try to get all of workouts in during the week.
2. Eat better. That means making smarter lunch choices and practicing portion control. Lately I haven't been able to eat like normal, so I don't think this will be too difficult. I also need to make sure I'm getting enough protein.
3. VERY IMPORTANT - watch my sodium intake.
4. Run/jog more. This is separate from my gym workout goal because I'm going to start running in the mornings, and then going to the gym in the evenings. I have to get really aggressive with my training to see the results I'm after.

I found motivation in a pod cast called motivation to move. Fred is exactly right its all mental. The problem isnt the food or lack of exercise its the guy I shave with. I make all my bodies decesions so I made the decesion to exercise to eat right etc.... Its only my 2 cents it will come my freind just stay active.
Fred L
4th Apr '08 17:41:14
A majority of losing weight is MENTAL. You really need to stop being negative on yourself and tell yourself you deserve to treat yourself better.

There is NOTHING in this world more important than your health. Get your priorities straight and you will get it done.

Let's get back down in the 220s Curtis! Try to walk for 30-45 minutes instead of 1 minute -- if you're sweating, you're doing something right.

And your diet is very important too -- make sure you stay away from the sugar, fried foods, fast food, soda, bread, and pasta. If you want to lose, you need to make the right choices.

You can do it Curtis, you have all the knowledge you need, now you need action!
Derek Schultz
13th Mar '08 23:43:26
My best advice I can give is to get into the gym and have a solid workout.

For me, doing that takes away the temptations that result in poor eating habits. I don't even think about ripping into things that I know aren't going to help my cause since I invested so much time punishing my body. Eventually, I look forward to the workout because I feel good about myself and the changes in my body. As long as I'm hitting it hard, I'll continue to do the right things when it comes to eating. I know time can be a factor, but maybe an hour in the gym could be a little therapeutic release after a long day.

You know it's in you.

Cindy N
13th Mar '08 15:03:25
Maybe I'm way off base, but I think your negativity is holding you back more than anything. I know that's how it was for me. I quit calling myself names and talking about all the bad things I was doing (like "shoveling food"). When I would start doing those again, I corrected myself. At first, I didn't necessarily believe the positive things I would recite in my head over and over again, but the things you repeat to yourself have a way of sticking... positive or negative. Quit pounding negativity into a way of life!

I started with a simple, "I can do this," which I would tell myself every time I wanted to give up or the name-calling would start up in my head. It might sound stupid, but I managed to overcome being sick (something that always sent me off track for weeks), long work days, and a less-than-supportive environment so far.

You have to BELIEVE you can do this, Cardio!

You said you are working 15 hours today...I am not sure what you are doing for a living but just remember at the end of the day, your life, etc, the company you work for is not going to care about your health. Your health should be one of your top 3 priorities. Always find a way to fit this in. Your health is always more important than working non-stop for some company.
